I’m making a part file from insert part. The part I’m inserting is a cast and I have different configurations for material. The part that the cast is going into is for the machining operation and has to be the same material. I have noticed that the machine part, new file which the cast is inserted into, has (material not specified). Do I have to make sure that all the machining part files I make for each material configurations are updated in the new machine part file so they all match or is the inserted part driving the material??

Please keep in mind the reason I need to do it this way is for DimXpert to work.

I need to build a base part file with configurations for material and I have to make sure it works with a PLM system.
