Hi all,
I publish interactive SVGs from SOLIDWORKS Composer 2025 (Technical Illustration workshop, "Generate hotspots from BOM IDs" enabled) and display them in a web viewer. The hotspot highlight (green fill) does not fully cover small components such as washers, hex bolt heads and nuts; the highlighted area is a rough polygon that misses parts of the shape.
What I found in the exported SVG:
- Each hotspot is a
- The help says hotspots are only highlighted on the visible section of parts, but the polygons also look coarser than the visible area.
What I have already tried (no meaningful change in vertex count or coverage):
- Color regions enabled, Level of Detail at maximum, color depth 32 and 64, "Compute regions per actor" on and off
- Advanced setting DetailLevel = 5000 (above 100)
- Occlusion culling off, Refinement at maximum
- Hardware: enabled OpenGL acceleration > Advanced (HardwareSupport.Advanced) so the Level of Detail slider became available (Intel HD Graphics P530)
- Re-exporting the SVG after each change and comparing the hotspot paths
Questions:
1. Is there any setting that controls how precisely the hotspot outline is traced?
2. Is the hotspot generated from the color regions, or from something else (e.g. the picking/ID buffer)?
3. Is there a recommended workflow to get tighter hotspots for very small parts?
Happy to share a small test file or screenshots. Thanks in advance!
