My company converted to SW several years ago. Since making the switch, we have been maintaining all the company wide standards and defaults (system options) independently on each individual computer. Previous to the SW switch, we could maintain the system settings (system options) globally. This was done by having a master setting file on the server that loaded up locally every time an individual started the CAD software on their computer. Currently, when a system option is modified, we have to get every user to update their own individual system options. We currently have 44 SW users and maintaining 44 separate system options files is almost impossible. This is causing a lot of inconsistencies and errors due to the fact that not every SW installation has the same settings, and some defaults are not being properly set. We also have issues with file locations being reset, which means individuals then have to reload all the file locations into the system options.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to maintain and administer system options on a company wide (global) scale? Our VAR claims this cannot be done but I have a hard time believing that a software as widely used as SW does not have some kind of method for doing this.
