I'm trying to update assembly instructions on a print with balloons so they will follow any arrangment I make in the BOM, and I ran into a print that uses a separate assembly (separate file)  as a detail view. The balloons in this view are all TEXT, and not linked to the main BOM. If they weren't text they would have item numbers already used in the main BOM.

Is there a way to combine two assemblies like this on a print, and have the two BOMs combined somehow so their item numbers are all contiguous?
