Hello, So I have an assembly that is created by co molding a few metal componets into a platics shape. I choose to create this is an assembly so I would have an accurate weight and BOM in my drawing. Doing this causes a "ghost" part in the BOM. It looks like this:
P/N 100 - final assembly
P/N 99 - Metal insert
P/N 98 - Plastic component <-- Ghost part
P/N 98 techincally dose not exist but it is called out in the BOM to represent the plastic material being consumed, and to give the part its final shape.
My question - Is it appropriate to have a P/N for a part that will never technically exist?
Thanks
