Below is a post I made in the drawings category. Haven't hadany comments yet so I thought I would try post it in the generalcategory and see if anyone has any ideas or comments.

Just want to find out how others are handling change parts withinassemblies and how they are then documented in their drawings.
We currently complete an assembly and insert only one of the changeparts. In the assembly drawing we then only list that one changepart in the BOM as there is only one of them in the actualassembly.
eg. Assembly Drawing Number 025-001-002 : (025 (Machine Number) -001 (Assembly Number) - 002 (Part Number)
Change part 1 number: 025-001-002
Change part 2 number: 025-001-003
Change part 3 number: 025-001-004
Only the first change part (025-001-002) is inserted into theassembly and listed on the assembly drawing. The other parts areissued drawing number but are not listed in the BOM.
Sorry if this gets a little confusing, but it is quite a confusingtopic. There must be many ways to deal with part numbering, changeparts, change assemblies, etc.
How are you handling the issue? //SolidworksAssemblies
