Hi all,

I'm having some problems importing Unigraphics files into SW 2014. My company uses both Unigraphix and Solidworks at the moment, and I want to use SW's useful interpreter to import some of our NX .prt files (especially assemblies) directly into Solidworks, and start working on them with the new CAD.

Premise: If I try to open a Unigraphics .prt assembly file, which I have in a local folder on my PC, the process works like a charm, and after some minutes I have the translated assembly in SW. This way, I find in the same folder of the original NX assembly the translated .sldprt or .sldasm files, automatically created by SW during the import process. No problems with that. Perfect.

Problem: If I want to do the exact same thing, but with an NX .prt assembly file which is located in the company's 'read-only official models' folder, the import process immediately fails, telling me that the access to the folder itself is denied.

I am assuming that this is because SW tries to write in that folder its translated .sldprt and .sldasm files, but (obviously) it can't, since the destination is read only.

Question: assuming that I cannot change the official folder's read-only policy, is there a way to set a different location (maybe a local one or even something else) where SW will put the translated files, instead of the original NX file's one?
