I started working on a Connector chain and found that I could not correctly pattern my connecting links for my roller chain will not pattern correctly. Starting out I have 4 different types of links in my assembly male link, female link, male K-link, and female K-link. This is due to the desired distance between the K-links. When I pattern the normal links using the Connected Linkage pattern option it works as expected, at worst I thought a link would face the other way which is ok. However, when I go to pattern the K-links using the Distance Linkage pattern I find them almost randomly changing orientation and flipping this will cause the spacing to vary as well.
I have tried changing all of the option in the feature manager, and the all types of chain patterns and wasn't able to find a good answer. When I was trouble shooting and changed the distance Linkage to a Connected Linkage all of the links would face the correct way.
Does anyone know of a fix, solution, or what I am doing wrong. I am using Solidworks 2024.
Here is the example assembly in case anyone wants to take a look for themselves.
