these two types of dimensions do not behave as expected

chain: when the space in the dim line is too small it does a leader (this is good)
but then if i go to the next sheet and back to the sheet with the chain dimension with a leader on one of em, it throws the leader way off into space for no reason. it only fixes it when i move the chain dimension a little. this is also a problem because it resets the leader location and forgets where i moved the leader to

that stuff should stay where the heck i put it the first time.

this happened in 2025 version and still happens in 2026 version

secondly: it flips arrows to outside way too often when the arrows could clearly fit inside (see screenshot)

the workaround: stop using chain dimensions entirely and just put in several single dimensions and use the tool that lines them up from the quick floaty menu.

and on baseline: they always are way too spread out.

the workaround: put the baselines in, use the floaty menu to align them, then drag the smallest baseline in and it will put them spaced the way they were supposed to be in the first place.
