Hi Guys
I’m hoping someone out there can help me, I’m fairly new to solidworks and very new to configurations. I work in a factory where we are about to update are document library, as we have just purchased solidworks after only previously have a 2D CAD system.
Anyway, as you can imagine in a factory we use several variations of similar components to make the different variations of our products. I am intending to using configurations to cut down on the amount of drawing that I need to do.
I have already made configurations of 3 of our base components, these are Pins, Caps and Cores. There are 30 configurations of pins, 4 configurations of Caps and 10 configurations of the Cores. I have made an assembly configuration of the Pins and Caps showing the different combinations, these are called pin-caps. I then made another assembly configuration containing the cores and pin-caps on each end call capped cores. This has all been very successful I’ve been able to produce drawing with the design table in view giving all the information needed.
Until the last one, I need to put down an overall length for the hole unit. I can dimension the configuration displayed on the drawing, but I would like to be able to show this dimension with the label ‘L ‘and then have a columns within a table shown all the lengths for the different configurations.
Anyone have any Ideas???
