Can't register product on customerportal

Hey guys,

I'm a second year student from Toronto, Canada trying to install SOLIDWORKS 2016-2017 on my laptop that does not have a CD drive.

I have created an account on customerportal.solidworks.com but when I try to register a product using the "Register My Products" link

it says that my serial number is INVALID. How can this be when I registered just fine for the customerportal website.

Any help will do. Thanks!
