I've never used configurations so I'm not sure the limitations.
I've tested it a bit and can do simple things like change material and add new features (a chamfer for example) and it works as expected.
Now I'm trying to create a family of parts (tube flaring inserts) that step up in size and I was hoping to use configurations to do it but it's not working. I have a revolved sketch and when I go to the second configuration and drag the sketched line to the new dia, it changes both configurations.
So my question is, do configurations only work on new features or can I somehow change things like the dia using the existing sketch?
From Solidworks help it appears I should be able to do that:
You can vary the design of part configurations as follows:
- Modify feature dimensions and tolerances.
But when I try it, it no workie...
