I created a spring, but I want it to be more flexible when I use it in assemblies.  The same spring is used in a few assemblies but at different lenghts.

What I want to know is how can I extract the value of the "Height" that is in the Helix/Spiral generator.  In this example the value is .923.

I want to plug that value into the purple dimension shown below.  Both values need to be the same in order for this spring to build correctly.

I tried creating a value in the equation editor...

but the "Height" data  field in the Helix/Spiral generator won't accept a variable, only a real  number.

Any suggestions or has anyone solved something similar to this problem?

I'm sure there is a pointer value for the "Height," I just want to know what it is so I can plug it into the "Purple" Dimension.
