Can beam elements be built from just points in space? Every example of Simulation beams I've seen includes a solid weldment.

I just want to build beams as line elements between points in space without any solid geometry, then define the cross section via a pull down menu that allows section definition by number entry, say a hollow tube defined by o.d. and wall.

Can Simulation now do this? I did not purchase it many years ago because it would not allow this type of FEA construction.
