Hi all,

I've never had the need to do this until now so it's possibly a dumb question BUT, is it possible to sketch on a selected face of a part in a large assembly and then have that sketch available when the part is opened as a part file only? If so, how????

I did try playing around with it a little and although I could sketch on the desired face I received a warning about sketching within the context of an assembly instead of a part and I noticed that the sketch itself (as a feature in the tree) was at the bottom of the overall assembly and not within the part, so I was obviously not doing it in the right method or something.....
