I'm starting to do some research on enhancing or replacing our current Cam generator.  We have a few enhancement requests and a few bug reports associated with it but nothing overwhelming that gives me the feeling that this is something that we absolutely have to improve.  I don't know if the lack of SPRs in the area is due to users trying the generator and finding that it doesn't do what they need so they abandon it or if it's doing everything they need (except barrel/cylindrical cams) or if the market is so small that everyone with a request/complaint has already filed it or if our partner products are doing it better and they use them.

So I'm looking to you for some help.  How often do you hear from customers about the need for a cam generator?  If you do hear from them, what do they ask about?  Have you lost accounts either at demo or down the road when they find that they can't get the generator to do what they need it to do?  Have you heard that Inventor or another package offers a better tool so they use that instead.  Do you promote partner products to fill the cam market needs?  If so, which ones?
