If i switch from magazine view to list view and collapse the headlines area on the home page and then hit refresh (F5) in the browser, it switches back to magazine view and expands the headlines. It tracks any filters I have on and doesn't reset those, so it should be able to also keep my preferred view (actually see my other post where there is a bug with the filters on refresh too).
