Hi,
When working with SolidWorks PDM file cards, is it considered best practice to enter the initial data for a new part in the Default configuration tab, or should it be entered in the main part (@) tab?
My concern is that if the data is added to the @ tab, and later a new configuration is created, the Default configuration will not contain any data. I understand that adding data to the @ tab makes sense if you know the part will never have additional configurations.
Could someone share their current process?
As shown in the attached images, entering data in the Default configuration tab leaves the Part Number, Description, and Finish fields empty in the @ tab. So either way, some fields will be empty, but I’d like to follow the best practice.
This question applies to parts that may or may not have multiple configurations.
Thanks!
