I know this might not be appropriate to ask about SW2007 but one of my friend is working on SW2007 as he is looking to associate BOM number into  the notes. I did a search before posting but since I'm not running SolidWorks, I can't confirm the way.

Can anyone running SW2007 check it for me and explain the method.
