Is there somewhere in the Code that addresses part numbering and BOM structures. Something along the lines that material like a casting must be called out on the drawing that is machining said casting? I know in ASME y14.5m 1.4 section n that all dimensions only apply only on the level they are specified on and in order for them to apply at a higher or lower level they must be called out on that specific level but I can't find where a material must be called out?

Is a material callout a tolerance and therefore falls under 14.5.1.4n?
