Artificial liquid-gas interface?

Hi,

Is it possible to model liquid-gas interface? For example, if in a boiler the water gets heated, how would its temperature affect the steam upwards? In flow simulation documents it is said that in a closed region only one type of liquid/gas is allowed. Therefore for this type of problem, should we artificially construct an ideal “diathermic wall” but setting:

  1. Its thickness to near 0.
  2. Specific heat to near 0.
  3. Thermal conductivity to as LARGE as possible.

So it would effectively behave as a transparent, superb thermal conducting layer between the liquid and the liquid?
