Why are area lights not reflected on the object or refracted through the object? Making physical objects and applying an emissive appearance is still a better solution to adding additional area light sources and also does not require functionality of Professional.
The added area lights was the function i was most looking forward to but it simply does not work correctly in its current state.
Area Light - Disk. Note no reflection on the surface and no refraction through the red glass material.
Added Disk Surface with emissive material. I also used an alpha channel to make the light fall off around the edges of the disk.
