I am new to this forum; my company has been using SolidWorks for 20 years. We transitioned to the 3DX environment as part of a relatively large team within the corporate group. I am looking for technical solutions within the 3DX ecosystem and for people who have solved specific problems and might be willing to share their tips.

Current examples from our setup (3DX 2024, SolidWorks 2024 SP5, and CATIA V5):

Configuration management:

The new conversion process—both with and without 3DX—is causing issues. Is the only solution to develop custom macros? I also have questions regarding the "Override" function within configurations introduced in SolidWorks 2024 SP5, etc.

File Name vs. Title:

SolidWorks’ behavior in an on-premise environment isn't always predictable. Missing references appear in large assemblies when file names are identical. The platform behaves unexpectedly when configurations are involved, leading to lost components and structural data.

3dx-Title:

Are there solutions for cleanly extracting the 3DX "Title" from Display States or configurations? Currently, the Title and other properties aren't being read correctly from Display States. Is there a clean way to handle this?

Derived Format Converter:

Is there a stable setup for the Derived Format Converter that allows the platform to automatically convert drawings into PDFs? The 3DX 2026 FD3 version is currently unstable for SolidWorks; drawings and text within them aren't rendering correctly, and the stamping process is unreliable.

3DX positions itself as a PLM platform where metadata is the "new crude oil." Is there a way to input data as intuitively as with Custom Property Tabs, or is custom development required? Is there a way to prioritize your own metadata, or do we simply have to accept that the information we need is buried behind Dassault-specific data that is irrelevant to our company? 

 I have many questions for the experts, as I am hitting a bit of a wall—our organization is too large for flexible workarounds, and structured processes are currently being developed.

I hope to find some answers regarding 3DX and SolidWorks within the CATIA environment here, but so far, I haven't come across the right topics or strategic discussions; the forum seems unmoderated and rather chaotic. Perhaps someone could give me a tip on what I might be doing wrong or what I should do differently. I would be very grateful for any help and would welcome the opportunity to exchange ideas.
