With a closed boundary fully defined sketch open i can hit X to extrude and then rt click and immediatly specify the end condition for direction one, or select a face and then rt click and specify up to surface.

When I select direction 2, I want to jump back out to the screen select the opposite face and rt clcick and specify the end condition, SW only gives me select other and a few others options...  So you have to specify the end condition in a drop down menue and then select the face out on the main screen.

It amy seem trivial but I do this operation so much building furniture that I took the time to start a discussion.
