Hi all,

Is there a way to automatically anonymise the part names in an assembly? I am thinking along the lines of a Pack&Go type feature whereby I can Pack&Go an assembly to a new folder, and all the part names are automatically changed to Part001, Part002, etc. I can then create a STEP file of the assembly with anonymised part names for circulation to collaborators.

Or alternatively, is there a way to create a STEP file from an assembly that automatically does not show the original part names in the tree? 

The only way I know of doing this is to save the assembly as a single SolidWorks part, external faces only, and then saving that as a STEP. But that usually results in unacceptable loss of structure where fine details are involved (knurled faces, etc). So I need a route other than this.
