Edges and appearances shop up okay in the assembly....

However, in the part file where I ran simulation for stress analysis, I can't get edges.  This is what it looks like regardless of the display style I select.  I can change the color, but I can't change to "shaded with edges" or "hidden lines removed".  It all looks the same.

Any ideas?
