My son is starting a new study in three weeks, where he will start using SW2016. For this he needs to purchase a new laptop. When browsing for laptops that have a SW certified graphic cards, I could not find anything below 1800 Euro and if you want to have something decent and portable it is going to cost around 4000 Euro. I can understand that kind of money if you are a professional user however to my standards is a lot of money for a 16 year old just starting college. Other (what I think) decently spec'ed laptops including i7, 8Gb or RAM and 256GB SSD 15" FHD are starting around 800 to 900 Euro, but typically still include the Intel HD Graphics 520 or a NVidia chipset, non of which are certified.
I am not a SW user myself, however my question is if SW 2016 will run on a laptop without a certified card eg such as the Intel HD520 or NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960M 4 GB GDDR5. Can the lack of a certified graphics card be compensated with more memory or faster processor, or do I need to "bite the bullet" and go for a version with certified graphics card. I have no preference for any brand, so any advice is welcome?
Thanks for your feedback and advice.
