Alright I admit I am new to Solidworks and am learning as Igo but I ran into something today that really threw me for a loopso I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on it.
My company uses configurations for revision control, I am guessingthis is common practice. Well I added a fourth revision to aspecific part and a rebuild error came up and promptly removed halfthe existing features. I fiddled around with it to try and get thefeatures to come back in but all the errors were bogus such as zerothickness geometry when there is plenty of meat and no intersectingfeatures, and sketch dimensioning reference errors when nothingchanged.
I ended up fixing the problem by making a derived configuration offthe third revision configuration, but I was curious why this madethe problem dissappear? And furthermore what makes a derivedconfiguration necessary? I have a couple Planchard reference textsbut they are very vague about configurations.
Any help would be appreciated.SolidworksParts And Features
