Hi,Everybody

In my bachelor thesis I developded a ftp client with UI based on solidworks vba which can provide some conveniences for data sharing.It can directly send active solidworks data to an ftp server selectively, download and open soldiworks data from ftp server directly. Futhermore, the transfer process is controlled and shown by a processbar. Now, I have a big problem with writing my bachelor thesis, cause I have no idea about the  state of the art of CAD data sharing  and I still can't see some big significance of making this kind of UI. 

I have also heard that cloud-based PDM is the best way to transfer data,right? Coud you please give me some information about this and some nice advices about writing my bachelor thesis? Thanks a lot!
