My objective was to create an attachment to a component.  So I created a part drawing with both the attachment and the component that it attaches to in the same part drawing making it easy to develop the mates. 

Now I want to print just the attachment portion of the part on a 3D printer.  However, trying to delete the component leaving the attachment causes errors.  Is there a way to 3D print only selected portions of a part?
