2018 Pipe Routing: Starting a pipe run in mid air

We just switched to Solidworks 2018 and I noticed that the Pipe Routing module doesn't have the "Start at Point" option that the Tubing does. It wasn't always this way. The Piping module in 2016 had it.

The reason I need this is that I want to show where we need to run the new pipe that will connect to the existing header. But all I need to do is show the general location and length we'll be running the pipe. I just wanted to start my new pipe run at a point and start laying down pipe. I don't have an interface point yet.

Any ideas here? There has to be a better way other making a dummy part for the existing header and then making a Cpoint on it. Or is that the only way?
