Upgrading from 2011 SP2 to SP4 - i downloaded all the files and created a new admin image
testing the install, when it gets to Explorer or FloWorks, it crashes, giving a 1638 error, which is that the product is already installed.
in the past, when it came to an already installed product, it would just not install that feature and move along i don't recall it ever crashing...
i can manually un-install everything, but that kinda defeats the purpose of upgrading...and then to enable a user to add a feature later, would require everything to be uninstalled?
Copied from the IM logs: note the differences…
Here is the last successful package that installed (COSMOS)
"Installing MSI: S:\Admin_Images\SolidWorks_2011-SP4.0\32bit\COSMOS M\COSMOSM_English.msi
command-line: INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files\SolidWorks 2011\COSMOS M\"
SLDIM=1 REBOOT=ReallySuppress ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT=1
And Flow, which failed:
"Installing MSI: S:\Admin_Images\SolidWorks_2011-SP4.0\32bit\SolidWorks Flow Simulation\SolidWorks Flow Simulation.msi
command-line: INSTALLDIR=""
SLDIM=1 REBOOT=ReallySuppress ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT=1
