Solidworks connected lagging on simple tasks.

Hello everyone,

I recently started a small business called Meka-Engineering. I got SolidWorks connected and had a brand-new PC built specifically for 3D modeling and some FEA simulations.

PC specs:

  • Nvidia RTX A4500
  • Intel i7-13700K
  • 2x32 GB RAM (5600MHz)
  • Windows 11 Pro

The PC works great on everything except SolidWorks. During simple tasks, especially in sketching and smart dimension, there is unusual lag. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling SolidWorks (including deleting registry files), uninstalling Nvidia drivers, trying different certified drivers, and using 1 monitor,  but the issue persists.

I recently tried the 552.55 driver, and it partially fixed the problem; the smart dimension dialog box no longer jumps to random places, but it is still slow. My VAR hasn't been much help; they suggested formatting my PC and trying Windows 10 (which I'm not a fan of).

Does anyone have any ideas on what else I could try? For a new business, having our new machine run SolidWorks at such low performance is very disruptive.

I am attaching a small clip of the problem (smart dimension dialog box no longer jumping).

Thank you in advance for your help.
