Project Management – Effort Driven Schedule

Context:

The current project schedule principle is a Duration schedule with assigned resources that can be allocated with a percentage (between 10% and 100%).

When looking at the Effort view, there seems to be a disconnect between correct roll-up of efforts of subtasks in task grouping the subtasks and/or in the Phase covering the tasks and subtasks - See attached image.

When opening the schedule in the Microsoft Projects view – this roll-up is done correctly - See attached Image. *

(*) Note, when making the corrections in Microsoft project view, the platform doesn't seem to take these changes in Effort into account - is this setup or settings driven?

Questions:

  1. How can a Task/Phase - Effort Driven schedule (based on Estimated hours) be created, where we can assign a resource, and a schedule Duration? – Here calculating the allocated percentage (and not driving)
  2. How can we assure the roll-up of the effort in the DPM view?
  3. If above is possible – what is the link between scheduled effort and Budget, and how can we track possible delta’s in the values, or have these linked?

Questions derived form: OC - 2023x FD02 version and ON-PREM 2022x FD06 (on short notice going to 2023x FD02).
