Workflow on Simulation of Slat conveyors

Slat conveyors are widely used for material handling in industries as they are an elite choice for handling heavy products or in harsh environments like high temperatures.

In R2023 FD03 a new enhancement was introduced for supporting the simulation of Slat conveyors. Users can now create new resource signals for starting/stopping the conveyor and also for overriding the default speed of slat conveyor. A simple workflow was created as part of testing this enhancement.

To demonstrate the capability of Slat conveyor simulation and Simulation part creation / transformation, in this workflow a tailgate is shown, which is getting assembled during its course of travel through the slat conveyor. Simulation part creation and Simulation part transformation features of Robot Virtual commissioning provide the tools to Generate the same part many times during simulation and also to destroy the simulated part. Users can control the frequency of generation of parts and also can filter out the parts which are to be transformed or destroyed.

Please watch this video to get more insight of this workflow.

Below video provide a quick overview of the resource signals used on the various devices and IO mapping done between them. Also, the definition of the Robot and device tasks are shown. If you have any queries please feel free to comment below.
