In my last role, I was learning their Tecnomatix Plant Simulation software which would lead to their Process Simulate package. One of the selling points for Tecnomatix was being able to program and simulate their HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces) and PLC programming in real world or Virtual Commissioning. For non-Siemens components, there were tools available to download for communicating with those components.
