Hello,
I have a question about the relationship between EBOM, MBOM, Workplan, System, and Resource while trying to understand the PPR structure in DELMIA Process Planning.
My current understanding is as follows:
- EBOM: Engineering-based product structure
- MBOM: Manufacturing-based product structure
- Workplan: Process plan / Operation structure that defines how the product will be manufactured
- System: Production system structure that defines where the product will be manufactured, such as Factory, Line, Station, or Work Center
- Resource: Actual resources used for the work, such as equipment, robots, jigs, tools, and workers
However, when I look at actual DELMIA data, I see several different types of structures:
- EBOM / MBOM / System / Resource structure
- EBOM / MBOM / Workplan (Capable Resource) structure
- EBOM / MBOM / Workplan / System / Resource structure (I think this is Best Practice)
What I would like to clarify is the following:
In actual projects, is it generally recommended to always build the full EBOM / MBOM / Workplan / System / Resource structure? Or is it also common practice to use only part of the structure, omitting either the Workplan or the System depending on the project scope or the current phase of work?
