I am a bit new to having a decoupled EBOM and MBOM and how this is supposed to work in conjunction with an ERP system. This topic is piggy-backing a bit off of the recent question here. So with MBOM and EBOM being decoupled you could have an EBOM item with part number 1234 at Rev A and the linked MBOM item at Rev C or vice versa an EBOM item for PN 1234 at Rev C and an MBOM item at Rev A. With these types of scenarios, what gets reported in ERP systems? Are there any best practices defined and being used in industry?
