Hi
This scenario may be known to most of the users, but I need few clarifications regarding the changes or update in MBOM / BOP with or without changes in EBOM.
Use case is that we have created PPR context and defined Model versions, configurations and effectivity to all EBOM, MBOM and BOP. Here we have 2 options (Option A and Option B; Option B contains common parts shared by Option A and unique parts specific to Option B)so we created 2 BOPs so if we filter the configuration, only selected option will be displayed in the tree as per effectivity defined, so as MBOM and EBOM.
Question is
- To manage multiple configurations, is it recommended to have all those configuration in same PPR context
- If yes, how the particular configuration will be released and trace it in downstream. Can we export or save in different ppr to share with Plant team?
- Lets say I have some changes in EBOM, what is the best approach to make those changes in MBOM and BOP as well. Here we should use revision or we need to create new ppr and make the changes? Some says use Manufacturing plans, but not sure whats the purpose and how it impacts
- Like this there are more products and Model versions, how do we manage? By using same PPR or new PPR for each products. For eg: Lets say we have Engine product but the application will be for multiple industry. In this case can we have ppr for each application and manage?
I know above were lot of questions but all comes under changes and how to manage options
Kindly give your suggestions based on your experience which would be great help for us.
Thanks and Regards
