Is it possible to convert between different types of Manufacturing Items and is it possible to do this through the UI? I am working with several engineers who are new to DELMIA and have decided that some items that they created as manufacturing assemblies should really be provided parts. I know in CATIA there is some functionality to convert a Part to a product and a product back to a part. I was wondering if there was something similar for manufacturing items. I am specifically interested in converting between Manufacturing Assemblies and Provided Parts but the functionality could be useful for other types as well e.g. convert a kit to an assembly. It seems like this type conversion can be done easily through MQL, but I am wondering if there are any risks in doing it this way. I don't see any problem as long as the two types have the same attributes and the assembly does not have any children. Has anyone had any success with this type of conversion before?
