I have a template in MS Word that has many variables.  Some work, some don't.

These work:

1. \\\$project.name
2. \\\$date
3. ...and many other \\\$project related variables

But I also inserted some template variables in the document, for example, these don't:

1. \\\$author
2. \\\$releaseStatement
3. \\\$releaseLevel
4. ...and many more variables specific to my template

I expected that when I use the report wizard to create the document, I would use the "Variable" option to fill out the document's variables.  But the variable GUI doesn't list any variables.

I expected to see all my \\\$variables show in the "Manage template variables GUI, but it's blank as shown below.  I did try with some templates that are included and while I can edit their variables once I clone the template to something project specific, my text associated with the variable doesn't appear in the generated report.  What am I doing wrong with Report Wizard and my template?
