Ever since the following patch (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS08-067.mspx ) last week I have been having problems with my Pipeline Pilot Student Edition.
To put it simply, the process prioritization is not working like it should. I am running PP on a Core 2 Duo Dual Core processor. I am creating models with R and were I WAS able to run 4 processes simultaneously (each receiving 25 % CPU and still being able to browse and type in word) I can now only run 2. Each receiving 50 % and NOT able to do anything else. In fact, when starting 4 processes the first 2 receive 50 % CPU and the last 2 receive 0 %. (changing process priority did not work)
Now the problem is, is this a MS thing, an Apache thing or a combined MS / Apache / R thing?
Basically my question is to the Accelrys employees, is this issue known and is there a workaround or quick fix available. At my department all people working with PP have this issue since last week.
