Pipeline Pilot 8.5 Now Available

In case you didn't hear, we released the latest version of Pipeline Pilot last week. Version 8.5 introduces new and enhanced capabilities focused on improved system performance, usability, and security, while offering access to enhanced science through Pipeline Pilot’s various collections. New and enhanced capabilities introduced in Pipeline Pilot 8.5 include:

  • Enhanced Collections: The Pipeline Pilot collections updated in version 8.5 include Cheminformatics, Discovery Studio, Imaging, Materials Studio, Next Generation Sequencing, R Statistics, Data Modeling, Text Analytics & ChemMining and many more.
  • Windows Integrated Authentication: Now supported for Pipeline Pilot Web Port via Kerberos and NT LAN Manager (NTLM), making it possible to access Web Port using Windows desktop authentication. The .NET Client SDK and JavaScript Client SDK have added login support for Windows Integrated Authentication.
  • Performance Enhancements: Customers will notice significant performance improvements through reduced latency for web service calls and faster database access.
  • Developer Enhancements: Pipeline Pilot 8.5 introduces support for server components developed using the Microsoft .NET framework, and a new SOAP connector component. These enhancements improve the developer’s ability to create components in .NET programming languages such as C# and VB.NET and access remote SOAP-based web services with complex document-literal messages.
  • Usability Improvements: A new look and feel to Pipeline Pilot Web Port has been introduced. While the look and feel improves the usability, Web Port continues to work in the same manner. Updates to the Professional Client including a Welcome Screen, Favorites Bar and Tooltip enhancements, improve the overall usability and the user’s efficiency.
  • SUSE 11 64-bit support: Pipeline Pilot 8.5 introduces support for operating the Pipeline Pilot Server on SUSE 11 64-bit.

The release is now available for immediate download by navigating to the Support Center within the Community. Select the green Download Center button on the right-hand side of the Support Center page to view software products available for download.
