Multiple installs of same version of PP server on windows

Hi,

I know with linux you can install the same version of PP server under different groups and users and use different ports. This allows for example Test and Prod instances to reside on the same server and share cores / memory. I was always told/under the impression this was not possible on Windows due to library conflict issues. However on windows you could install different versions (e.g 9.1, 9.5, 2016) on the same server safely and run them concurrently.

But the install guide for PP9.5 seems to imply this is possible (page 6).

"Managing Multiple Installations
Pipeline Pilot supports side-by-side installations of existing and new products. You can run BIOVIA
Pipeline Pilot Server 9.x and Pipeline Pilot Server 8.x, and 7.x versions on the same machine. With sideby-
side installations, the installer can copy components and protocols from an existing protocol
database (XMLDB) into the new installation. You can also upgrade an existing installation to the latest
version."
Side-by-side installations
To run different versions side-by-side, each version needs to be installed in a unique path or drive on
your server. They cannot all reside in the same directory or subdirectories"
On a Windows server, the default paths are:......

Does anyone know if you can safely install and run the same version of PP server (e.g 2 x 9.5 installs), into different paths on a single Windows server and run both concurrently (e.g Dev and Prod)?

Thanks
