Ideas for the Excel Cell component

The reporting collection in Pipeline Pilot is very powerful and lets you generate some very nice looking reports. I had some thoughts about three features that if added to the Excel Cell component might greatly enhance Pipeline Pilot's abilities with regard to Excel reports.

The first idea would be to give us the ability to specify the Cell Address for the cells coming out of the Excel Cell component. One thing that this would allow us to do is create sparse tables in Excel, much as the Cross Tab component does in HTML.

The second idea is to give us the ability to create an Excel Formula in the cell. This would allow the reports we generate in Pipeline Pilot to be dynamic. When we send the Excel report off to our colleagues, they could adjust parameters and see changes in the answers.

Finally, the third idea is to give us the ability to specify a row-span and a column-span for the cell, creating a merged cell. This would be extremely useful for creating headers on tables that are more intuitive. The crosstab component for HTML is another great example of how this is used effectively.

I am interested to hear from other customers what they think of these proposed enhancements!
