How to create a common data files folder writable for all users

G'day,

We are using PP 8.5 CU 5 on CentOS 6.0 with file-based user authentication.

We would like to create a common are where all users can read and write data files.

We tried the following:

Created a File Browser shortcut "common" that points to a file system directory that is readable/writable by ppuser.

This works for protocols, in that any user's protocols can read/write to "common".

However, if the Professional Client file browser is used then it can't write new files or create folders in "common".

Error unable to create new file: (Permission denied by SciTegic Admin to create file ...

In fact, it seems that the user can only write to their personal data folder using the Professional Client file browser.

This seems reasonable but is inconsistent with the ability for a user's protocols to be able to write outside the user's personal data folder.

How can we create a common data folder that all users can read/write?

Thanks

Chris.
