The attached subprotocol and example demonstrate pulling the version number of the currently executing protocol from the saved version (which is generated each time a protocol is run).
This number is something I like to include in the header or footer of reports generated via various web interfaces. It is of less utility in the professional client setting, where much of the time a protocol has been modified and not saved before it is run.
This has only been tested on a limited number of protocols from versions 7 and 7.5, but seems to work reliably.
