Hello,
I am having trouble with teh Cheshire 5.1 installation on a CentOS Linux server. The server does not have a X Server on it, so I am logging in from another CentOS workstation with ssh and am attempting to display the GUI installer on my workstation. Our Security Network Firewall Policies will not allow me to simply set the DISPLAY to my workstation. In the past I have used X11 port forwarding to circumvent the issue. But in this case the installer AccelrysCheshire-5_1_LinuxInstaller.bin is giving me the error:
Initializing Wizard........
Launching InstallShield Wizard........
The installer is unable to run in graphical mode. Try running the installer with the -console or -silent flag.
The question is, how can I run the installer either in graphical mode or in a silent mode or any other way? I will need to install both the Runtime and Developer tools. I did try to run AccelrysCheshire-5_1_LinuxInstaller.bin with the -console option and this did install files under /opt/accelrys/AccelrysCheshire5.1, but it also reported some errors and was not able to connect to or install anything in the Oracle Database. I was also not sure what was installed under /opt/accelrys/AccelrysCheshire5.1 completely included all of the Runtime and Developer tools.
Below are the steps I took starting with the ssh command from my Linux workstation and some of the output from the commands. Please let me know if you need any further information.
myworkstation# ssh -Y -X root@cheshireserver
cheshireserve# xclock (to test that I can actually display to my workstation's X Server - this succeeded)
cheshireserve#echo \$DISPLAY
localhost:10.0
cheshireserve# ./AccelrysCheshire-5_1_LinuxInstaller.bin
Initializing Wizard........
Launching InstallShield Wizard........
The installer is unable to run in graphical mode. Try running the installer with the -console or -silent flag.
Thanks
