Name: CambridgeSoft Chemistry Cartridge Components
Author: Andrei Caracoti
Version: 1.0
Created: 08/2007
Purpose: These components provide a way to connect to a chemistry database through the CambridgeSoft Chemistry Cartridge. All components assume chemistry stored in the CDX Base64 encoded format. All components can use either the Pipeline Pilot format molecule on the data stream or a property that contains a valid CDX string from an upstream component. This is useful to select the CDX string from a database and display it in its native form in the ChemDraw ActiveX viewers, without converting it to and from a Pipeline Pilot molecule. This enables structures with specific features that are not compatible with the CTAB format to be viewed natively. These features include caption text, graphics, TLC plate schematics and so on.
Requirements: PP Server 6.1.1, Chemistry Collection, Integration Collection, valid CambridgeSoft Chemistry Cartridge installation
O/S: Windows and Linux
Limitations: N/A
Keyword: cambridgesoft chemdraw chemistry cartridge substructure search similarity duplicate
Contents: various components for connecting to the CambridgeSoft chemistry cartridge and for viewing and writing molecules using the ChemDraw ActiveX control.
Installation:
1. To install, you will need administrator access to the Pipeline Pilot server.
2. Unzip the archive and place the cambridgesoft folder into the root\apps folder of your Pipeline Pilot Server installation.
3. In a command window, cd to
pkgutil –i cambridgesoft
4. This will install the components and example protocols which will be immediately available through the Pipeline Pilot client, on the Components tab.
5. You will also need to set up a DSN connection to the CambridgeSoft cartridge database and know the name of the chemistry table in the database and the column in that table that stores the CDX string.
