Dear community, what is the best way to upgrade Apache and OpenSSL beside upgrading the whole PP intallation ?

Our perpetual license only includes PP 8.0.1 as far as I know. 

We are very pleased with current version of the software, however we are facing issues with WebPort access as security layers from Apache 2.2.11 and OpenSSL 0.9.8j are not supported anymore by all newer browsers. 

Can I for example install my own Apache 2.4.x and OpenSSL 1.x, but how to link PP to these newer versions of Apache and OpenSSL ?
